

BIOGRAPHY
Lyle Johnson is a Los Angeles–based producer, recording engineer, guitarist, and live sound engineer whose work spans recorded music, television, and live performance across R&B, pop, funk, and contemporary soul.
Johnson produced Here We Are by Durand Bernarr, which received a Grammy Awards nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance. His production and recording work has also appeared on NBC’s Kenan, featuring the cast on vocals.
As a producer with Yellotone Music Group, Johnson’s catalog has received television and streaming placements across major broadcast networks and digital platforms, including Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, FOX, NBC, Amazon VOD, Hallmark, and YouTube, with additional international performances.
In the studio, Johnson has recorded and collaborated with two-time Grammy Award–winning artist Timothy Bloom and acclaimed vocalist V Bozeman. He also maintains an active recording partnership with vocalist and wife, Brandijo Kistler, producing and engineering original material spanning soul, pop, and singer-songwriter styles.
Johnson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, and has performed extensively as a guitarist in both sideman and bandleader roles. Lyle Johnson has shared a stage with musicians like Brandon Eugene Owens, Ikey Owens, MyGuyMars, Thaddeus Dixon, and more.
As a live sound engineer, he has handled front-of-house and monitor mixing for touring and legacy acts including When In Rome and The Common Kings, and has engineered performances at prominent venues throughout Orange County and Southern California. His work bridges the studio and the stage with an emphasis on musicality, clarity, and artist-first production.
